A range of heavy duty cast iron wheels for demanding and industrial uses. Where these wheels are fitted into castor assemblies, the wheel load capacity may exceed that of the castor. Load rating must then be downrated to the maximum rating shown in the castor assembly table.
Cast iron wheels combine strength and shock resistance with long life and economy. The have very low tractive resistance and are a first choice where ease of movement is required. Being metallic they will withstand extremes of temperature that would destroy plastic or tyred wheels.
Cast iron wheels can cause floor wear and noise. The will also ruse like all ferrous metals. Cast iron is a good choice as a basix wheel used primarily where rough surface conditions prevail.
Headed Spacers
Where ball journal wheels are to be fitted into castor assemblies a pair of headed spacer bushes will be required to sleeve the boer and increase the hub width to match the castor frame and axle bolt.
